Frequently asked questions

What is a Hydro Facial?

A Hydro Facial is a non-invasive treatment that deeply cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, hydrates and oxygenates the skin using advanced Hydro2 technology. It delivers instant brightness, clearer pores and longer-lasting hydration with zero downtime.

How does it work?

The Hydro Facial uses a customised, multi-step system to:

  • Remove impurities and congestion
  • Exfoliate and smooth the skin
  • Infuse deep hydration and active serums
  • Boost radiance skin with oxygenation and targeted technologies

Is it painful?

Not at all — Hydro Facials are relaxing, refreshing and completely comfortable. Most clients describe the experience as soothing and gentle on the skin.

How many sessions will I need?

You’ll see a visible glow after just one session. For long-term skin health, clearer texture and consistent radiance, regular treatments are recommended. Your ideal plan can be discussed during your appointment.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime, and you can return to your normal activities immediately. However, some clients may experience slight pinkness for a short time afterwards- this is completely normal, especially with an advanced facial, and settles quickly.

How should I prepare for my Hydro Facial?

To get the best results, please:

  • Arrive with clean skin (no makeup if possible)
  • Avoid retinol products for 7 days before your appointment
  • Avoid prescription-strength retinoids (including Tretinoin/Retin A) for at least 14 days before your appointment
  • Avoid exfoliating products (AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, scrubs) for 7 days before
  • Ensure there is no fake tan on the treatment area
  • let me know in advance if you have any active breakouts, open skin, cold sores, or irritation, as the treatment may need to be adjusted or postponed
  • Wait at least 2 weeks after any Botox or dermal fillers before and after your Hydro Facial

Booking Info

You'll receive a message from me via Timely booking system with a consultation form to complete before your appointment. We'll go through everything together during your treatment.

A deposit is required to secure all bookings: £20 for standard treatments £40 for higher-value services. This will be deducted from your total, with the remaining balance due on the day.

In some cases, I may give you a quick call before confirming your booking to carry out a pre-consultation check-in and ensure the treatment is suitable for you.

A patch test is required at least 24–48 hours before your first lash extension treatment.

Lash extensions require regular maintenance, with infills recommended every 2–3 weeks to keep your lashes looking full and fresh. The exact timing depends on your natural lash cycle and how well they are cared for between appointments.

Payment plans available — just ask!

Post-treatment, your skin will feel deeply cleansed, hydrated, and glowing. To maintain results please follow the aftercare below:

  • Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours- ideally 24 hours-to allow the skin to settle and avoid congestion or irritation. If you apply sooner, choose mineral makeup, as it allows the skin yo breath and is less likely to clog the pores.
  • Avoid direct sun, saunas, steam rooms, or intense exercise for 24–48 hours
  • Use gentle, hydrating skincare only
  • Avoid retinol, retinoids, for 7 days and avoid tretinoin for 14 days after your Hydro Facial
  • Avoid exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs, glycolic, lactic, salicylic) for 7 days
  • Avoid scrubs, exfoliating brushes and active masks for 7 days
  • Drink at least 2 litres of water daily
  • Apply SPF daily

Slight pinkness may occur- this is normal and settles quickly.

Not suitable with active cold sores, open wounds, severe rosacea flare, active eczema/dermatitis, or sunburn. If you are allergic to salicylates (some BHA solutions) or are pregnant, we’ll adjust serums accordingly (avoiding salicylic acid). Avoid within 2 weeks of injectables and if you’ve taken isotretinoin in the last 6–12 months. Recent peel/laser? Please check timing with Helen.
